Shared Objective was established in 2024 by
Philip Sullivan and Rachel Halton. The directors have worked together since 2020 and between them, have over 40 years’ experience spent helping people understand and make the most of their money.

Meet the Team
After a career in financial services that started in the late 80s, I jointly formed Shared Objective Ltd with Rachel Halton to provide a bespoke financial planning firm and to develop a long-term succession plan. I recognise that clients require a service they can rely upon throughout their lives and building a like-minded team to deliver consistent and ongoing financial planning service was my key motivation. I am not convinced by other industry solutions where advisors seek to monetise their client relationships when they slow down.
Supporting my team develop their careers and build their own futures is a key component to my view of the world. This has framed our company ethos and is how we came to name our business. Our common aim is not only refreshing to us but to all those with whom we interact.
Outside of advisory work, I actively seek a decent work life balance and encourage my clients and team to do the same. I have enjoyed investing in property from an early age and have used this knowledge to guide others.
My aim is to share a lifetime of knowledge with clients and to introduce carefully selected professional people to our clients, to complete our collaborative approach to the planning model. We know our limitations but recognise the strengths others can bring to our approach.

My route to financial services has been unusual in that I’ve worked in various other industries in the past, including media, music and humanitarian aid. Although diverse industries, the common theme throughout was the support of others. I enjoy seeing people succeed and achieve their goals.
When Philip described his concerns about how he would assist his clients in the future, we agreed that creating a business that would deliver a managed succession plan and help me develop my own career was the way forward and led to the formation of Shared Objective.
I like learning about people and finding out what matters to them. I get as much joy seeing others succeed as I do myself.
